Nestlings covers the daily workflow of running a licensed daycare, day home, or agency network of day homes.

Attendance

Staff check children in and out from the mobile app. Check-in/out times feed billing (hours-in-care) and CWELCC subsidy reporting automatically — no separate sign-in sheet.

Daily sheets

Meals, naps, diaper changes, mood, and activities logged per child throughout the day. Guardians see each entry the moment it's recorded.

Messaging

Direct messaging between staff and guardians, plus broadcast announcements to a room or the whole organization.

Billing

Invoices, payment tracking, and tax receipts (T2201-style annual statements) generated from attendance and fee schedules. GST/HST applied automatically via each organization's tax rate.

CWELCC / subsidy reporting

For organizations enrolled in the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care initiative, Nestlings tracks the province's fee cap and enrolled-days data needed for subsidy reporting, configured per organization in Settings.

Multi-home agencies

Agencies overseeing multiple licensed day homes manage every home from one dashboard and one subscription, with staff and billing scoped per home.

Roles

  • Directors / Owners — full dashboard access: billing, reports, settings, staff.
  • Educators / Staff — mobile app access scoped to attendance and daily sheets, no billing or settings.
  • Parents / Guardians — mobile app access to their own children's activity, messaging, and billing. Always free.
